List of families with modified Ostoja coat of arms

Families listed below are in most publications families that belong to the Clan of Ostoja but with modified Ostoja coat of arms. The reason of that is that some historians or amateurs wished to group polish coat of arms that looked similar, sometimes just because there where two moons in the shield and sometimes just because they wished to give the coat of arms a name. Those errors where never corrected, later publications just copied such errors until it become standard. However, families with so called modified Ostoja coat of arms where never part of the Clan of Ostoja. More information about modified Ostoja coat of arms is situated in the section of heraldry.

Lista nie obejmuje rodzin rosyjskich które dostały herb Ostoja od Cara w czasie zaborów.

This list does not include russian families that received coat of arms that is similar to modern version of Ostoja during the time of partition.
