The family of Iłowiecki lived in the medieval times just beside the family of Błociszewski. It was therefore presumed that both families are related. The are but only through marriage. The haplogoups are very different as Błociszewski show west slavic origin and R1a while Iłowiecki show R1b - western euroean group. It is therefore presumed that Iłowiecki family joined ostoja in the begining of the Piast dynasty and origin from Normandy where many knights served in polish army during formation of the state.
