'''[[Historia rodziny Solecki|Łukasz Ostoja Solecki]]''' urodził się 6 sierpnia 1827 r. w Jawczu w powiecie rohatyńskim. W roku 1844 ukończył gimnazjum w Brzeżanach. W latach 1844-50 studiował filozofię i teologię na Wydziale Teologicznym Uniwersytetu Lwowskiego. Tam też otrzymał tytuł doktora nauk teologicznych w 1854 roku. W roku akademickim 1863/64 był Dziekanem Wydziału Teologicznego, a w latach 1864-65 Rektorem Uniwersytetu Lwowskiego.
W 1881 r. cesarz Franciszek Józef I mianował go biskupem przemyskim obrządku łacińskiego, co potwierdził papież Leon XIII (27.03.1882r.), obdarzając go przy tym tytułami prałata rzymskiego i asystenta tronu papieskiego.Dnia 22 V 1882 r. Kapituła Watykańska wydała akt koronacyjny zatwierdzony przez papieża Leona XIII i 15 VIII 1882 r. odbyła się koronacja łaskami słynącego Obrazu Matki Bożej Kalwaryjskiej koronami papieskimi przez bpa Łukasza Ostoję Soleckiego. W uroczystości koronacyjnej wzięło udział ponad 150 tys. pielgrzymów. O samym akcie koronacyjnym informuje kamienna tablica wmurowana obok ołtarza Matki Bożej. Same zaś korony ufundował hrabia Józef Tyszkowski. W 1932 r. w 50 rocznicę koronacji obrazu Matki Bożej Kalwaryjskiej, nałożono na obraz srebrną, dekorowaną złotymi motywami roślinnymi, sukienkę wykonaną w krakowskiej pracowni Kopaczyńskiego z wot składanych przez pielgrzymów.

There he received his PhD theology in 1854. During the academic year 1863/64 he was the Dean of the Faculty of Theology. In 1864-65 Rector of the University of Lvov.
In 1881, Emperor Franz Joseph I appointed him bishop of Przemyśl Latin rite, as confirmed by Pope Leo XIII (27.03.1882r.), Giving him the titles of the prelate of the Roman and papal throne assistant.
On 22 May 1882 the Vatican issued a chapter coronation act approved by Pope Leo XIII, 15 August 1882, was crowned famous miraculous Image of Our Lady of Kalwaria papal crowns by Bishop Łukasz Ostoja Solecki. The coronation ceremony was attended by over 150 thousand. pilgrims. The very act of coronation stone plaque indicates in-built beside the altar of Our Lady.
Crowns were founded by the Earl Joseph Tyszkowski. In 1932,on the 50th anniversary of the coronation of the image of Our Lady of Kalwaria, applied to the image of a silver, gold decorated with floral motifs, dress made in Krakow studio Kopaczyńskiego of gifts made by pilgrims.
Bishop Łukasz Solecki died on 2 March 1900 at the age of 73 years.
